Shipping Policy

The sakes we sell at Sakura Town are rare, high-quality products that can only be found in our store.

 

Customs duties

  • For orders dispatched with DHL Express, customs duties are already covered in the shipping cost.
  • For orders dispatched with International Parcel Post (Japan Post), customs duties may be incurred. In this case, the additional customs duties has to be paid separately by the receiver. Please understand that we have no control over the charges levied by local customs offices.

Shipping Fees by Destination

Expenses Other than Goods and Transportation

• Import tax, excise tax, and liquor tax.
• Fees will apply depending on the destination country
• Fees may differ depending on the number of bottles you purchase or the product's price.
• The (i) commodity price and (ii) all shipping costs will be shown on the checkout page.

Shipping Schedules

  • Orders placed before noon will be shipped the same day, excluding weekends and Japan holidays.
  • Orders placed after noon will be processed on the next business day.
  • You will receive an email once the order has been dispatched. This email will contain an order number allowing you to track the progress.
  • For orders dispatched with DHL Express, your package is expected to be delivered within two days at the earliest and about one week at the latest.
  • For orders dispatched with International Parcel Post (Japan Post), your package is expected to be delivered within one week at the earliest and about one month at the latest.
    However, please note that according to Japan Post, it may take more time than the above-mentioned due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Packing

At Sakura Town, we take great care with packaging.

  • Each bottle is individually air-packed to prevent breakage of the bottle.
  • We also wrap the sake in a cool bag and place a refrigerant inside to avoid sudden temperature changes, ensuring that the sake is delivered as fresh as possible from the brewery.
  • Since we provide the sake in cardboard boxes wrapped with dozens of wraps, there is no need to worry about damage, even on rainy days.

Shipping Precautions

  • Local authorities may charge fees or taxes depending on the jurisdiction. This is separate from our retail price or shipping fee.
  • The customer is responsible for paying any such fees or taxes required by local authorities.
  • For some destination jurisdictions, only one bottle can be shipped at a time.

Business Hours

  • Our team operates during standard business hours in Japan.
  • All of our operations, including shipping, are closed on Japanese national holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Orders received on holidays will be processed for delivery on the following business day.

Incident Response

Delivery may be delayed during natural disasters or other unexpected events.
